Mater Digital Printmakers
In Color has been producing Giclée Prints professionally since 1990. Through the purchase, installation and mastery of several brands and a dozen models of digital fine art giclée printing machines, Mr. Fisher has become a master printmaker. He was certified in 1993 by Iris Graphics as an onsite giclée technician.
In Color offers several diferent types of papers and canvases for its custom printed jobs. Here at AArthurFisher.com, we offer two standard types of paper in our Giclée Store. If you are interested in ordering prints on canvas or other special substrate, please contact us directly.
Our Digital Printing Process
Our images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. Utilizing a professional 12-Color ink-jet printer, this printing process is designed to offer a large, bright color gamut while achieving archivability of over 100 years in gallery conditions. The process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction and quality that rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes. This process produces the same prints commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries.
Premium Semi Gloss Photo Paper
This heavy, 10 mil photo paper will appear more like a photograph, offering slightly richer blacks than the matte paper. The archivability is slighly less than that of the enhanced matte, as the paper may begin to yellow slightly after 70-80 years.
Premium Matte Paper
Our Premium Matte Paper is a heavy-duty 10 mils thick, weighing 190 g/sm. This is a very bright white paper with high opacity. It renders rich blacks and bright colors while maintaining a vintage look. Being a matte paper, glare is almost non-existant. The paper should hold up without any yellowing for 80-90 years.
Our materials are subject to change.
Care of Giclée Prints
These prints are shipped in a durable tube with the face of the print rolled against poly-coated paper. This special liner is designed to prevent any scratching of the print's printed surface during shipping and handling.
The printed surface of the Premium Matte Paper is relatively durable, resistant to fingerprints and moisture. The ink is not water soluble. That said, you should handle these prints with care as they may be susceptible to scuffing in heavy black areas. Subtly appearing while the print lies flat, this phenomenon is minimized when the print is viewed on a wall.
For maximum life we recommend framing with UV protecting glass or Plexiglas and avoiding placement of the print in direct sunlight.
IMPORTANT: Page Specifications for Sizing Prints
Images printed on paper will be smaller than the page size specified. The paper will have approximately one inch of white unprinted margin to aid in handling and framing. The image will be printed as large as possible to fill the selected size while leaving this small margin. Different images have different aspect ratios. This means that some images are different shapes than others. Our page sizes represent nominal standards, but won't precisely match every image. We have attempted to list measurements to closely represent actual, finished paper size, but in some cases page sizes might be slightly smaller on one dimension.
Because of this consequence, the sizes listed are nominal, so frames and mattes should be purchased after you receive your print, and you are able to size it accurately.
